Birth of the Federation Birth of the Federation has the honour, possibly the dubious honour, of being the first story I wrote based on Star Trek. It is completely based on the events of a game I played of the computer game, Birth of the Federation and covers several major events of that game. Given that the story is based on the game it does not adhere to canon at all. It can be considered an alternate universe story. It also doesn't feature the Swiftfire at all, mainly because I hadn't come up with the the name Swiftfire yet plus the fact that name is not in the game files as a possible ship name.
