SEASON 3: EPISODE 02

ALWAYS ON MY MIND: Epilogue

PROLOGUE - PART 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - EPILOGUE

The Vorta had only one purpose and that was to serve the Founders.  As Jasis walked down the bleak hall of the Cardassian facility she wrestled with this thought.  What she was doing was not in service of the Founders, though its conclusion could be said to be helpful towards the Founder’s goal of bringing order to the Alpha Quadrant.  She shook her head, she was rationalising her actions and no matter how she looked at this it was a selfish act that had little to do with her benevolent gods.

Jasis paused briefly outside the room she had been heading to.  Once she entered there would be no going back.  She opened the door and found the person she was seeking right where she had left her.  This was not too surprising.  It was not safe for her to go wandering around but she could not deny that she would have not been upset if the other woman had just disappeared.  The woman immediately responded to her entrance.

  “Any news?” she asked.

Jasis took a deep breath and looked down to the datapadd in her hands.  “Yes, the operation did produce some results before it was terminated.  From Borath’s final report we were able to compile a possible timetable.”

The other woman jumped up and grabbed the padd out of Jasis’ hands.  She fervently read the contents of the padd.  A smile came to her face.

“Excellent, we need to move soon.  If we prepare a list of supplies can we get them?”

Jasis ignored the use of ‘we’ in the woman’s statements.  She knew that her part was that of a facilitator and that in the end the other woman would perform the deed without her.  “You do realise the consequences if you take this course of action?”

The woman looked up and Jasis stared across into her own eyes.  The only difference was that there was a touch of mania behind the eyes of her other clone, her predecessor.

“Yes and it will be worth it to make Captain Masters pay for what he has done to us!”
